16 Celeb Wedding Dresses We Forgot Actually Happened

A wedding is a very special and exciting day for any bride. A celebrity wedding, however, is a special and exciting day for the whole world. When two successful individuals that most people of the world recognize decide to tie the knot, it is something to be discussed for sure. The main focus of any celebrity wedding is usually what the two celebrities decide to wear. From the designer to the theme, to the style, everything is evaluated and talked about either in a positive way or a negative way. Even more, scrutiny is placed on the bride's choice of wedding dress. Luckily for those who are famous, they have the money to hire a stylist and afford whatever kind of wedding dress their hearts could possibly desire.

A wedding dress is something a bride always looks back on and hopefully feels happy about. On the other hand, what's not so lucky is when a wedding dress is personally designed or created and is absolutely terrifying. It's very difficult to comprehend why these celebrities would select such outrageous and disastrous dresses for their wedding days, but it happens. Sometimes they don't listen to everyone else's advice and eventually regret their choices later in their futures.

16 Celine Dion's Over-The-Top Head Piece And Gown

On December 19th, 1994, Celine Dion got married to René Angélil who, at the time, was a music producer. The famous singer is best known for her heart-wrenching ballad from the movie The Titanic, “My Heart Will Go On”.

Dion's dress featured a 20-foot long train and took over one thousand hours to make.

On top of her head was a seven-pound tiara made with over two thousand Australian crystals.

Although the dress was exactly what the star wanted, between the French lace and Italian material, the dress cost over twenty-five thousand dollars! Needless to say, most people can agree that this particular dress was incredibly unique and stood out amongst the other wedding dresses of the early 1990's.

15 Lady Mary Charteris' Mosaic Dress

Lady Mary Charteris is a model, DJ, and vocalist for the band The Big Pink. In 2012, she got married to Robbie Furze who is also a musician for the band.

Charteris decided to hire the same designer that the famous singer Lady Gaga also works with.

The designer, Pam Hogg created a dress that seemed similar to a mosaic. With the triangular design throughout the bodice, and the fluffy skirt the dress turned out to be quiet eccentric. Hogg even showed up to the wedding, yellow hair and all, and held the train of the wedding dress for Lady Mary Charteris. Although the dress seemed like an odd pick, Lady Mary Charteris seemed to be glowing with happiness on her wedding day.

14 Luisana Lopilato's Dress Or NightGown?

Luisana Lopilato is a famous Argentinian actress and model who married Michael Buble, a singer, in 2011.

The power couple not only decided to go for a fairy-tale themed wedding but celebrated their wedding three times in three separate locations.

The first took place in Buenos Aires and was a small ceremony. Three days after the original marriage, they got married again in front of 300 friends and family. After that, the newlyweds ended up in Vancouver and celebrated with numerous people. Lopilato's dress was created by an Argentinian designer named Jorge Ibanez. The dress was made of beautiful, white silk and beaded by hand. While her dress was created by a local designer, her shoes were cream colored and designed by the famous, Lonte.

Tina Turner, a name synonymous with greatness, got married in this outrageous wedding dress in 2013 to Erwin Bach. The famous singer did an interview with HELLO! Magazine about the dress after her big day.

According to the interview, Turner first saw the dress in Bejing.

According to the magazine, Tina Turner stated. “I thought, 'I gotta have that, even if I never wear it, then I thought, 'I know, that will be my wedding dress!'"

The dress was green taffeta and black silk with crystals adorning it. This dress defies the traditional wedding dress, but so did the star's wedding. White Turner wore green and black, she insisted that all the women wear white and the men were to be in black tie.

12 Mama June Definitely Wasn't "Camouflaged" In This Dress

Co-Star on the hit reality television show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Mama June got married sporting a camo wedding dress with a hunter orange trim. Her now ex-husband matched the dress with a hunter orange vest and camo pants. Honey Boo Boo decided to wear a pink dress with a cute peach trim. The interesting theme was accompanied by an Easter-colored bouquet for the bride.

The couple wished to avoid and extravagant wedding day and decided to wrap things up with a family barbeque and a cake that was baked by Mama June's sister.

According to Daily Mail,  most of the budget for the wedding was actually spent on the barbeque. Despite the oddities, one thing is for sure, this celebrity wedding will be remembered for a long time.

11 Emma Thompson's Couch Patterned Dress

Emma Thompson is well known for being an actress in films such as Harry Potter, Nanny McPhee, and Stranger Than Fiction. She got married to Kenneth Branagh in 1989 wearing a very eccentric wedding dress. Although there was a white base on the dress, most of it was colorful patterns, and the dress was cut in an odd way.

Instead of wearing a traditional veil, the actress went for a fascinator instead.

While the base of the fascinator matched the dress, the netting looked more like a veil. The couple that met on Fortunes of War, attempted to keep their relationship out of the limelight. In the end, however, they ended up having a public wedding, where the only part of the wedding that was traditional were the vows.

10 Mandy Smith Wedding Dress Might Have Been An Overkill

You may know Mandy Smith for some of her pop songs in the late 80's such as, "Don't You Want Me Baby". Smith got married to Bill Wyman in 1989 when she was only 18 years of age.

Bill Wyman was the bass guitarist for The Rolling Stones and was 52 when he married the young singer and was married once prior, and once after.

The couple started dating when Smith was quite young and the relationship between the two of them ended when the star reached the age of 23. The young woman's dress was designed by Louise Hamlin-Wright and was created out of silk. The celebrity selected a poofy veil and a massive bouquet for her special day. Although the age of the two was questionable and under scrutiny, she appeared to be very happy on her wedding day.

9 Christina Aguilera's Malzetovs And Dress Mess

This actress and singer married Jordan Bratman, an American music producer, in 2005. Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman met in 2002 when the singer went to Atlanta. The two then got engaged in November of 2005.

Aguilera and Bratman ended up having a traditional Jewish wedding at the Staglin Family Vineyard in Napa, California.

The ceremony was held in the evening and had over 350 people attending. The ceremony included an orchestra which was 14 pieces and featured Morning Hymn from The Sound of Music. Christina Aguilera's dress was designed by the one and only Christian Lacroix. The dress had minimal bling along with the veil. Due to the excessive detailing of the dress, it costed a whopping thirty thousand dollars to make due to the excessive lengths of material.

8 Whitney Houston's Detailed Head Piece

In 1992, Whitney Houston married the famous Bobby Brown. The summer wedding was an over the top extravaganza, and Houston's dress set the tone.

The dress and headpiece was created by Marc Bower and is now up for auction for over forty thousand dollars.

The headpiece that was with the dress was not an attachment but an actual part of the dress, which made it tricky to get into.

Houston's dress was made entirely out of ivory satin and crystals. Houston's gown was a mermaid cut and design with a very long train. The two singer/songwriters had a very large wedding filled with family and friends. It's easy to see how happy the two of them were on this very special day.

7 Katie Price Was A Prom Night Princess

Katie Price has been married three times so far in her career and each time the dress has left the world a little curious as to what she was aiming for.

Her first wedding featured Price in a pink, sparkly wedding gown, similar to one you would see at prom night or a quinceanera.

This dress is from Price's first wedding when she got married to Peter Andre.

The couple was going for a fairy-tale themed wedding, which is perhaps why Katie Price selected to wear an over-the-top, tacky tiara. The dress was currently posted on eBay by the famous Katie Price for just slightly over a measly two hundred and fifty dollars, US. It was posted after the two celebrities divorced in 2009.

6 Gwen Stefani's Dress Could Have Been Dropped In Juice

Gwen Stefani, the singer/actor well known currently for her voice acting in the hit children's movie, Trolls, married Gavin Rossdale in 2002.

The dress was created by Kate Moss and had a strawberry-colored bottom which was similar to, but not quite, an ombre effect.

The whole wedding was very punk rock and the couple seemed ever so in love at the time of the wedding. The wedding took place in London, and Stefani ended up being over an hour late for her own wedding day. After the ceremony, there was an eight-course Italian meal which the guests were taken to on double-decker buses. The best part about this wedding was the couple's dog, a sheepdog named Winston, who never left Gwen Stefani's side during the special day.

5 Of Course, Britney Spears Had To Do It Big

Surprise, surprise, Britney Spears made the list. This talented singer has gone on a wild journey since she came into the limelight and has become an icon to many. Her outfit from her first wedding was also pretty wild, to say the least.

The ceremony dress was more appropriate for a wedding day.

The star had her second wedding in 2004 when she married Kevin Federline; Spears wore an elegant dress to the wedding designed by the well-known fashion designer, Monique Lhuillier who has designed many celebrity wedding dresses. While the reception dress was a little more of Spears' style, the first dress was unlike the attire she would usually wear and came as a shock to the few hundred people that were invited and attended the wedding.

4 Vanessa Williams' Dress Was Definitely Fit For Miss America

Vanessa Williams is an actress and was crowned Miss America in 1984. She married Rick Fox in 1999, and the two of them got divorced in 2005.

The dress was custom designed by Carmen Marc Valvo and was designed to be a “princess ball gown”.

The top bodice was made of a shinier material while the rest just poofed out and made into a definite ball gown. The weirder part of Vanessa Williams and Rick Fox's relationship was how long it took them to actually officially divorce. Apparently, although Williams caught Rick Fox cheating on her many times, they would declare divorce but never actually sign the papers to make it official. The two didn't even live together for most of their relationship. So, although the wedding pictures seem sweet, the relationship was far from perfect.

3 Helen Worth Shines Almost As Bright As Her Dress

The famous British actress, known for her role on Coronation Street, decided to marry Trevor Dawson who is a teacher in Britain, in the year of 2013.

The dress consisted of lace with small silver flowers to compliment the silver color of the entire dress that was created by the designer Bruce Oldfield.

Trevor Dawson is the star's second husband, and despite the fact that the two of them got married when she was age 62, that didn't stop the star from going all out on her special day. The huge reception took place at none other than the extravagant, over the top, Ritz hotel.

    2 Katie Price… Again

Although this isn't the worst of Katie Price's dress choices for her multiple weddings (there are other dresses that would be considered much more scandalous), this dress still makes the list.

The third wedding with Kieran Hayler, who is a professional male entertainer, went smoothly without any wardrobe malfunctions unlike the other two, but the bride refused to stray from her “princess ball gown” themed wedding dresses.

This sequenced and tulle wedding dress for the third wedding was designed by, Mori Lee. Even now, however, Price has opened up to Daily Mail saying that she wants to divorce Kieran Hayler but still live with him. Possibly there are more weddings to be had in Katie Price's future, and hopefully, they'll come with more wedding dresses.

    1 Andrea Turner's Color Mishap

Anthea Turner, a television presenter and former contestant on the reality TV show Big Brother, married Peter Powell in 1990.

The two first got married in secret, then had a huge celebration the following Saturday.

The bride decided on a floral headpiece to accompany her veil and had a matching bouquet as well. The wedding ended up creating a PR disaster in the end due to the picture of the couple eating Cadbury's “snowflake” bars. Unfortunately, not much else of the wedding was cared about by the media after the picture was released in the tabloids the next day, and the couple was accused of being money hungry and attempting to make their wedding into a cash grab by promoting Cadbury chocolates.
