Update On The Cast 15 Things The Stars Of Jersey Shore Have Done Since The First Show

The cast of Jersey Shore had strict rules to follow when it came to gym, tan, and laundry, but not much else, as the MTV series also gave viewers the opportunity to see a lot of fights and wild antics. This was a show that gained popularity thanks to its larger than life cast, who had some of the craziest names the world has ever heard.

But the former stars of the show are still making headlines in the media, but these days it's for very different things. They're all in their 30s (some are rapidly approaching their 40s), and it's amazing how in just a few short years (the final episode aired in 2012), these people have changed their lives. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has become a picture of domestic bliss, but she's also a business-savvy woman, Vinny Guadagnino has launched his own cooking travel show, and Pauly D DelVecchio has become better known by the name DJ Pauly D - and that's only scratching the surface of what half the cast has been up to.

Below are 15 things that the former stars of Jersey Shore are doing now, and it's not just their appearances that have changed dramatically.

15 Snooki Has Penned An Impressive Five Books, Already

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is a married woman and a mom of two, who used her fame on the MTV show as a platform to launch a successful career. She's also penned not just one, but five books.

The first was released in 2011 and was called A Shore Thing, and she clearly discovered she had a love for writing because later that year she came out with her second book, Confessions of a Guidette (which according to Entertainment Weekly, was part-memoir and part-guide to becoming a guidette). Then came the third book, a novel titled Gorilla Beach, which was released in 2012, and was a sequel to her first novel, A Shore Thing.

Her fourth book was very different. Released in 2013, it focused on her life as a mother and shared her experiences with pregnancy and postpartum life. This book was titled, Baby Bumps: From Party Girl to Proud Mama, and all the Messy Milestones Along the Way. And then in 2015, she released her fifth book, Strong Is the New Sexy, a guide to becoming a better you.

14 Vinny Guadagnino And His Mom Landed A Cooking Show

When filming for Jersey Shore wrapped, Vinny Guadagnino proved he is a man of many talents, he also proved that he is close to his mom, Paola Guadagnino, who joined him for a Cooking Channel show, Vinny & Ma Eat America.

The show aired in 2017, and followed Vinny (who was raised on traditional Italian food) and his mother, as they embarked on a trip across America trying new cuisines that she had never eaten before. Vinny told Fox News that the show was something he and Paola had wanted to do for a long time. He said, “We always knew that we wanted to do some kind of cooking show ever since everyone saw my mom on Jersey Shore bringing in mountains of lasagna and baked ziti. People fell in love with her, her personality and her cooking.”

13 Angelina Pivarnick Tried Her Hand At A Rap Career

Angelina Pivarnick was not one of the most popular cast members on the show because Snooki claimed she didn't fit in with the rest of the group, telling MTV News in 2010, “I just feel like she didn't fit into the family. When I saw her in the house, when I walked into Miami, I was like, 'What is this girl doing here? Why are you here? We could have brought [Deena] in.'" Harsh, maybe, but Pivarnick has done a lot since leaving Jersey Shore, including trying to launch a rap career.

She made headlines for her rap song, “I'm Hot,” which didn't exactly have the most meaningful lyrics because an extract from the song reads like this: "I take a shot/ It hits the spot/ Then dance a lot / Until I drop. I shop/ And shop/ I just can't stop… "

According to TMZ, her start as a rap queen was not exactly easy because she reportedly tried to stop the song from being released in the first place after the producer handed her a terrible contract.

12 Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola Launched A Podcast Called 'Just Sayin"

Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola had a messy relationship with co-star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, but she now speaks about relationships on a podcast called Just Sayin' where she is joined by TV host Clare Galterio and Real Housewives of New Jersey star Siggy Flicker.

Her relationship with her fellow reality star may still haunt her though, and here's why: According to Maxim, Jersey Shore's reboot, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Giancola is the one star that will not be returning. Her former co-star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi shared her thoughts as to why her friend wouldn't return on her own podcast, It's Happening with Snooki and Joey. She said, "Being that there was a lot of Ron and Sam drama when we did film, it was just really hard on both of them. So I just think she doesn't want that anymore.”

11 Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino Showed Off His Skills On 'Dancing With The Stars'

Snooki was not the only Jersey Shore star who put on their dancing shoes because even before her appearance on the show, it was Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino who wanted to show off his skills on the dancefloor. He was partnered with professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, who according to ABC News claimed to have enjoyed the time she spent with, revealing “every rehearsal was fun.”

Following his elimination, Sorrentino revealed on Good Morning America he was not too upset by it because he had given it his all. He said, “I really did think I did my best. That's why when it was elimination day I said to myself, if I get eliminated, I'm going to hold my head high and know I that I tried my best and put it all out there on the floor.”

10 Pauly D DelVecchio Became A Successful DJ That Sells Out Parties

Pauly D DelVecchio has managed to find fame as a successful DJ and is now better known as DJ Pauly D. He was even named on Forbes' highest-earning DJ list in 2012, coming in seventh place - although he didn't appear on the top 10 in their most recent poll.

But his passion for music was not always taken seriously, as he revealed to the publication. He said, “Everybody was skeptical at first because how everybody heard about me is probably from Jersey Shore.” But after playing a lot of gigs, touring the country, and supporting big acts, he was finally starting to get the recognition he deserved. Speaking of this, he said, “That legitimizes everything, and they're starting to say, 'This kid isn't just a reality star, he's an actual DJ.'”

9 Snooki Has A Podcast Called 'It's Happening with Snooki and Joey'

When you saw Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi on Jersey Shore, there was no denying she was a bit of a wild child, but Polizzi has since grown up and changed her ways. She's also become a focused, business-savvy woman. In addition to writing five books, she has appeared on Dancing with the Stars, created an apparel line called Snooki Love, and has found a love of podcasts.

She launched her first podcast, Naturally Nicole, in the summer of 2014, and later started the weekly hour-long podcast, It's Happening with Snooki and Joey, along with her friend, makeup artist, and stylist, Joey Camasta. The pair chats about fitness and lifestyle, as well as pop culture, and according to The Odyssey Online, it's actually a podcast that's worth listening to.

8 Deena Cortese Got Married And Became A Dog Trainer

Deena Cortese and Snooki were very close during their Jersey Shore days, but like her former co-stars, a lot has changed in Cortese's life since her reality TV days. She married a man named Christopher Buckner in 2017, and it proved to be a bit of a Jersey Shore reunion because many of her castmates were in attendance. But she chose to go into a profession that's very different to being a reality star, and that profession is as a dog trainer.

According to The Daily Beast, Cortese's social media profile reveals that she works as adog trainer at New Jersey's Green Leaf Pet Resort. The website for the company reveals that this is luxury accommodation for dogs and provides the pets with boarding, grooming, and dog training.

7 Jenni 'Jwoww' Farley Is A Proud Wife And Mom Of Two

Jenni "Jwoww" Farley actually ended up married to her on-and-off-again boyfriend, Roger Mathews (their relationship was featured on Jersey Shore, but he was not one of her co-stars). These days, Farley is the picture of domestic bliss and she's also a mom of two children, a daughter Meilani Alexandra Mathews, and a son, Greyson Valor Mathews.

She takes her role as a mother very seriously, and it's changed her life. She told E! News, "I was someone that didn't have patience and I was very, almost OCD. You have to have patience [when you're a mother] and come to the fact that you will never be on time for anything ever again." She added, "Your kids will always come first, and I actually don't like going out. I'd rather spend my Friday and Saturday nights with my children, watching Rapunzel or Tangled."

6 Jwoww Also Has A Series About Her Married Life, 'Jenni & Roger: Domesticated'

If you were wondering what home life is like for Jenni "Jwoww" Farley, she has you covered because she decided to launch an Awestruck series titled Jenni & Roger: Domesticated. Their series focuses on their family life (a far cry from Farley's days on Jersey Shore), but their decision to open up their kids lives to the world was one that her husband Roger Matthews was initially hesitant about.

She discussed this in an interview with InTouch Weekly, saying, "Roger was skeptical at first, but he absolutely loves the show that Nicole [Polizzi] and I already have on Awestruck, and eventually, he came around to it. These are memories we get to look back on during some of the most precious times of our lives. I'm so glad we decided to do it.”

5 Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Dated Khloé Kardashian's BFF, Malika Haqq

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was well-known for his controversial relationship with on-again, off-again girlfriend, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola on the show, but even though his Jersey Shore days are long behind him, he is surprisingly still making headlines for his relationships. In particular, thanks to his connection with the Kardashian clan because he dated Khloé's BFF, Malika Haqq.

The pair met on the second season of the E! show, Famously Single. They fell for each other and confirmed that they were dating in December of 2016, but their relationship was short-lived because, in February of 2017, they announced that they had gone their separate ways. Speaking of their relationship, Ortiz-Magro told E! News, “I feel like with me and Malika… we had a connection.”

Haqq had less pleasant things to say about her ex-boyfriend though, and told People their love languages were completely different. She added, “Ronnie and I are really, truly opposites.”

4 Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino Starred On 'Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars'

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is another member of the cast who has made headlines for their relationship, and he and his college sweetheart Lauren Pesce gave the world a glimpse into their romance when they appeared on the TV show, Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars.

The pair rekindled their romance after Sorrentino's time on Jersey Shore, and she has been by his side through his struggles. They also decided to hash out their issues on the show in 2015, and Sorrentino later told People that the experience “helped us out and it still helps us out to this day.” Adding, “You sort of learn how other people communicate and [that] they're coming from a different perception or a different view, and you have to value that view and listen to respond.”

3 Angelina Pivarnick Proved She's Got Serious Smarts

Angelina Pivarnick has accomplished a lot since her time on Jersey Shore, but she has also proved she is a woman with serious smarts because she became an EMT (emergency medical technician).

She spoke about her decision to go into a medical profession (she's also shared selfies of herself in uniform on Instagram) during an interview with Wetpaint. She said, "It just happened, three months ago, four months ago. I always wanted to do that and save people's lives. I always wanted to do it."

It's a stressful and demanding job, but one that Pivarnick finds rewarding as she revealed, "It's a really, really, really stressful just, but you know what, I see people in pain, I see people that need me, so I want to help them.”

2 Vinny Guadagnino Has Tried His Hand At Acting And Comedy

Reality TV is a form of entertainment, but Vinny Guadagnino is also passionate about working on TV series that have nothing to do with drinking and wild ways. He has appeared as cousin Vinny in the series, The Hard Times of RJ Berger, and a poker-playing celebrity in two episodes of the series, 90210.

Guadagnino has also commented on his love of acting, telling Fox News, "Since Jersey Shore, I always took improv classes and sketch comedy classes and I always do that underground and just educate myself. I'm a huge comedy nerd. I watch every comedy show and I would love to just do something in comedy one day, whatever that is."

According to Guadagnino's IMDB page, he has also landed a comedic role thanks to the comedy series, Above Average Presents (from the makers of Saturday Night Live! and The Tonight Show).

1 Pauly D Put His Love Of Gym And Tanning Into His Own Tan Line

Pauly D still looks very similar to the way he did when he appeared on Jersey Shore, and after the show wrapped he used his fame as a way to pursue the things he is really passionate about, like becoming a DJ but also launching a tan line. In 2011, it was revealed that Pauly D had teamed up with Devoted Creations Inc. to launch a series of products, including sunless tanners and tanning lotions (used before you head to a tanning booth to enhance your tan).

Creating sunless tanners was a smart move because, on the show, Pauly D was known for his love of tan and would often go to sunbeds, once even burning badly, but by promoting tan in a bottle encourages people to use a safer option and reduce their risk of harmful UV rays.
