Kylie Jenner Makes 1 Mill Per Pic 18 Of Her Most Valuable Social Media Posts
When we think of celebrities who are living a successful, wealthy life, it's safe to say that the Kardashian-Jenner clan comes to mind right away. Ever since Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered in October 2014, we can't go on social media or on any other website without reading a story about at least one member of the family. Between their hallmark reality series, the many spin-off shows, and all of their products and social media posts, we're definitely living in a universe that is all about the Kardashians.
Kylie Jenner grew up in the spotlight, and now that she's in her 20's, she's definitely making her mark. She's been in the news lately for the birth of her baby girl, Stormi Webster, and now people are talking about the star for another reason. Recently, news broke that Kylie Jenner's social media posts are worth $1 million each. But it's not every single thing that she posts, like her selfies or when she's hanging out with her famous siblings. Her most valuable social media posts are the ones where she is promoting a product, and we can tell when she puts #ad at the end of her caption or otherwise makes it clear that it's a sponsored post.
Let's take a look at her most valuable social media posts! Here are 18 of her most valuable social media posts.
18 March 19th, 2018: Waist Gang Society
On March 19th, 2018, Kylie Jenner was talking about these products from Waist Gang Society, and it seems like this is a collaboration that she did since she talks about giving her fans a discount code.
This is something that it seems like Kylie does on a regular basis. According to People magazine, Kylie is using a waist trainer to work on her post-baby body. As it turns out, Kim Kardashian was the first in the famous family to use these, and she was using them back in 2015. So what are they and how do you even use them? If you wear this product, it makes your waist look smaller and "hourglass."
What's interesting about this particular post is that it seems that some of the star's fans weren't pleased that she was doing this. One fan wrote online, "I wish at least one of them would show what a woman's [sp] body after birth really looked like and not after surgery to 'fix it.' Just to show millions of people that it's beautiful what women's bodies can do." According to Health magazine, this product only makes your body look different when you're actually wearing it. It won't actually make you lose weight or make your body look different.
17 May 18th, 2017: Pretty Little Thing Dress
Kylie Jenner was promoting her Pretty Little Thing dress in this Instagram post from May 18th, 2017. It makes sense that Kylie's Instagram posts where she promotes a product are worth so much money: when Kylie wore an orange Pretty Little Thing dress in the summer of 2017, that particular dress actually sold out after she talked about it.
Pretty Little Thing is a company in the U.K. and is very affordable. Hello Giggles talked about this particular post and called it "the most '90s mini dress ever" and was happy that it costs less than $40 -- it's $35. We might be surprised to hear that since we would assume that a star like Kylie Jenner would only buy really expensive designer clothing, but as it turns out, that's not the case. Okay, so we're pretty sure that she still wears designer clothing, but at least she mixes it up and wears some other stuff, too.
In August 2015, Kylie and her sister Kendall Jenner were interviewed by Harper's Bazaar, and Kylie said of her sense of style, "I'll wear heels and a dress to lunch." She also shared that her "fashion standby" is "A good leather jacket. Everyone needs a good leather jacket."
16 July 19th, 2017: Balmain Beats Headphones
On July 19th, 2017, Kylie was promoting the Beats By Dre collaboration with Balmain and she was the face of the ad. As the website says, "Both Beats by Dr. Dre and Balmain are connected by a love for music, fashion and culture. We celebrate diversity, innovation, and the constant challenging of status quo. It's with this very connection that our unique partnership was born. A shared belief that without the diversity that music brings us, our world would be nothing. Music is the thread that connects us all, allowing us to dream, and giving us a way to escape."
Yup, these headphones are definitely really cool and really beautiful. They look so luxe and fabulous, so it's really no wonder that Kylie Jenner was promoting them on her Instagram account. We can for sure say that she leads a life as fabulous as this particular product.
As she told Harper's Bazaar, "Beats are my favorite headphones, so this is something I'm passionate about and I'm excited to be a part of this campaign. Music means so much to me. I can put on a song and just escape. I think a lot of people can relate to that feeling."
15 September 28th, 2017: Quay Australia Sunglasses
It's almost summer (finally), and that means it's time to start thinking about dresses, sandals, and sunglasses. That's the summertime trifecta and exactly what we need at all times… and maybe a cute fedora because we can never have enough accessories.
We always see celebrities out and about looking cool in some amazing sunglasses, and Kylie Jenner is no different. On September 28th, 2017, Kylie Jenner was talking about Quay Australia sunglasses, and she looked really cool in these yellow tinted ones. This is another example of an Instagram post of the young celeb's that was most likely worth $1 million.
The company, as we can tell from the name, is from Melbourne and has a cool mission statement. Their website copy says, "Born roadside on the festival circuit, surrounded by music artists and festival goers who inspired us to create cool, affordable sunnies for the freethinking. From dramatically oversized aviators to edgy fashion sunnies, Quay Australia has become a favorite for individuals with fearless style, a carefree attitude and fresh perspective." They have been around for over 14 years. The website also says the brand has been "seen on countless celebrities" and is "known for our limited edition influencer collaborations."
14 February 20th, 2017: Fit Tea Body Wraps
In this post from February 20th, 2017, Kylie Jenner was talking about Fit Tea Body Wraps. The company sells these on their website and the product is supposed to tackle cellulite. As their website copy says, "A natural, NON-GMO way to improve problem areas." We can see that Kylie wrote #ad at the end of her caption, so, yup, this must have been one post that was worth $1 million. As we can also see, she got over 1 million likes. (And we get super excited if we get 20 likes… )
Actress Megan Fox is another celebrity who is known for talking about this particular product. It's definitely pretty common to see stars talking about products, but we don't usually assume that their posts would be worth quite so much money. Well, now we know.
We can see why Kylie's posts would be worth so much since we know that she's such a big star, but Frank Spadaforda, the CEO of D'Marie Analytics, spoke more about this in a press release on May 3rd 2018: “Kylie is an undeniable global brand, which may make some roll their eyes. But the reality is this young, female entrepreneur's savvy helped her reach a milestone in the influencer marketing and advertising industry which many seasoned professionals have failed to achieve.”
13 July 24th, 2017: Sugar Bear Vitamins
We know that we should probably take our vitamins on a daily basis… but, hey, it can be a bit hard to remember and to get into the healthy habit. That's why hearing that there are vitamins called Sugar Bear is pretty attractive. They just sound good, don't they? Plus they're cute little bears and also bright blue.
In this post from July 24th, 2017, Kylie Jenner was talking about Sugar Bear Hair vitamins, which, yup, are supposed to help your hair stay healthy and grow, just like the name says. According to the company's website, "SugarBearHair is the world's first gummy vegetarian hair multivitamin. SugarBearHair tastes like a sweet delicious candy, made with the juice of real berries."
A lot of people have tried taking the vitamins to see if their hair would grow, based on the fact that they saw Kylie promoting them. People definitely associate the star with this product. An Elite Daily story headline reads, "I Took Kylie Jenner's Favorite Vitamin For 3 Months And My Hair Grew 6 Inches" and a few employees at In Touch Weekly gave them a try as well, generally agreeing that they worked or at least made their hair seem healthier.
12 March 7th, 2017: Fashion Nova
Kylie Jenner also promotes the fashion website Fashion Nova, and looks awesome in this grey outfit which looks super comfy and cozy, which she showcased in this photo on her Instagram on March 7th, 2017.
Kylie told Interview magazine about what her life would be like if she wasn't famous: "I would probably just never dress up. I would never wear makeup because I honestly hate wearing makeup. Lately, I've just been so over it. I feel like I'm way too young to wear such heavy makeup all the time. It's just bad for your skin, but I'm always doing photo shoots or red carpets and events, so I just obviously want to look good. And I don't know, I like hiking. I used to do a lot of hiking when I wasn't as busy. I had a lot of anxiety when I was younger, so I would just run to this hill path in the back of my mom's house and listen to Jack Johnson. I would listen to Jack Johnson and stare at the sky until my anxiety went away. When I was 16, I was always outside. We always watched the sunset, the group that I was friends with."
11 February 10, 2017: Postmates
Kylie was promoting Postmates on her Instagram on February 10th, 2017, which was a rare non-fashion or beauty-related post for her, and it's really cool.
This is a different look for her as well since she's got bangs and smokey eye makeup. That's just not a look that we see on her very often, if ever. But we have to say that it really works for her.
Kylie told Interview magazine in November 2015, "If I could do whatever I wanted, I would have a successful makeup line, and I would want to hopefully start more businesses, and just be, like, a businesswoman" and it seems like she's got those things down pat. After all, her lip kits do super well and she's known for them, and she also seems very business savvy. Just look at all of her sponsored posts on Instagram. She also said something in the same interview that seems to suggest that being so famous affects her a lot: "I wake up every morning at, like, seven or eight because I think that there's a bad story about me, and I have to check. My worst fear is waking up and finding something bad about me on the internet."
10 August 11th, 2016: Pure Leef Facial Cleanser Exfoliator
In her August 11th, 2016 Instagram post, Kylie was talking about the Pure Leef Facial Cleanser Exfoliator. She talked about her review of the product in her caption, "It's one of the best cleansers that I've tried! There are no harsh cleansers and I feel like I just had a facial every time. I can't wait to use it tonight!"
If we're wondering about Kylie's typical skincare or beauty schedule, which we probably are since we always love to hear this kind of stuff from celebrities, she told Vogue all about it. She said, "I try to wash my face every night before I go to sleep, and sunscreen is a must. Khloé taught me to always use sunscreen on my hands and face to protect my skin, and my mom taught me to always stay hydrated.” She also said, "I moisturize a lot." We probably all know that we should start taking care of our skin and our body at a young age, but sometimes that is easier said than done and we forget. But Kylie seems very aware of the necessity of having a good skincare set-up, and that's definitely very inspiring for her fans to hear about.
9 January 23, 2017: Puma Girl
Kylie started being a Puma Ambassador in March 2016, which is what she was promoting in this post from January 23rd, 2017. If this cute outfit doesn't make us want to work out, well, we don't know what would. We would be happy to wear this.
According to Us Weekly, Kylie's deal with Puma was seven figures. Khloe Kardashian is well known for her love of exercise (and for her reality series about working out, Revenge Body), and it seems like loving to work out and take care of yourself runs in the family. Cosmopolitan talked about the fact that Kylie has done Pilates workouts to stay in shape.
Kylie has also talked about what she eats, and that's always what fans are excited to hear about. In July 2017, she said she was going vegan in a Snapchat post, but no one really knows if that is something that she is still doing. People are really big fans of the fact that she seems to eat junk food and is sometimes photographed eating onion rings. That's definitely not something that we see all the time with celebrities, who are often following strange diets that don't make a lot of sense.
8 April 15th, 2017: "Winter Bumbleland"
Who hasn't heard of the dating app Bumble by now… and probably even tried it out at least once (with maybe mixed results because that's how these things tend to go)? If any of us are single, we're well-versed in the land of dating apps, for better or for worse. Bumble is supposed to be a better use experience for women since it allows us to message guys first instead of having either gender send the first message.
Kylie Jenner hosted a "Winter Bumbleland" party in April 2017 with Bumble and her sister Kendall, so that's what she was promoting in this Instagram post. The party was at Coachella, which definitely sounds super cool, and it was attended by other celebrities, and the famous siblings hosted it along with the creator of Bumble.
In March 2016, Kylie created a Bumble profile for her sister Kourtney Kardashian, and Kourtney said, "That's what sisters do but it's cool that the women are in charge. It's a great idea." Do we think that Kourtney actually used the profile? If she did, did she message guys and go on any dates? (That's probably hard for us to think about if we're still hoping that she and Scott Disick would get back together.)
7 December 27th 2016: Fashion Nova Jeans
When Kylie Jenner talked about Fashion Nova Jeans in this Instagram post from December 27th, 2016, it got people talking… and not exactly in the way that she intended. Sure, people probably saw this and wanted to buy the jeans, but something else was going on.
According to Teen Vogue, fans wondered why Kylie was talking about Fashion Nova and not Good American, which is the jean company that her sister Khloe Kardashian co-founded: "We can see why Kylie's fans might be confused by her new ad. FashionNova's jeans are very similar to Khloe's in that they're designed to accentuate curves and cater to different body types."
Even if some fans were upset and not that pleased, we're sure that anyone would agree that seeing a woman display her beautiful curves, like Kylie Jenner has in this Instagram post, is good for everyone and is always going to be a positive thing. We know that so many young girls look up to Kylie and follow her every move on social media, and it's awesome that she promotes a normal body type. It's just not healthy to see stick figure stars everywhere, so it's nice to see this photo of Kylie in these jeans.
6 December 16th, 2016: Livelokai Water
Live Lokai is a company that sells jewelry for a good cause (water) and here Kylie Jenner is, promoting her Live Lokai water bottle in an Instagram post from December 16th, 2016.
E News calls Kylie Jenner "ahead of the trend" when it comes to a lot of products, so that's yet another reason why she is such a big influencer and why her Instagram posts are now worth so much money. She definitely seems to be talking about things before the rest of us have heard about them.
Kylie isn't just another pretty face or another famous person -- it really does sound like she has goals and dreams and ambitions for herself. When she was interviewed by Time magazine after landing on their Most Influential Teens list two years running, she talked about living life in the spotlight. She said, "I think people expect a lot out of [me and my family]. Whether we're influential for one reason or another, it is what it is. I know how influential I am over my fans and followers. I feel like everything I do, my hair color, my makeup, I always start these huge trends, and I don't even realize what I'm capable of. I didn't care what people had to say; I didn't even read any of that stuff."
5 December 7th, 2016: Daniel Wellington Watch And Cuff
Kylie Jenner was promoting Daniel Wellington watches and cuffs in this Instagram post from December 7th, 2016.
The star seems super aware that she's so influential and that so many young girls are huge fans of her and look up to her. As she told Time magazine about how she hopes that people think about her, "That I've helped people and that it wasn't just about me. That I was an inspiration for young girls. And it wasn't just getting your lips done and having good hair, but being a good person and inspiring other people to not bully other people and do good things and be nice to everybody.
She also talked about being self-confident: "Yeah, I am. I think I am. I know I'm still young and finding myself, and I'm still growing up. But I'm okay with that, because it's the best part of life, being a teenager. And I'm doing it with my fans. We're all trying to find ourselves, growing up and making mistakes and trying something different. For me, it's just a little different because everybody's watching me. When I'm 25, hopefully I'll know exactly what I want to do. But I'll always want to have fun. That's just my personality."
4 November 27th, 2016: Nip And Fab Cellulite Fix
Here Kylie is, promoting Nip And Fab Cellulite Fix on November 27th, 2016.
We might be thinking, "What cellulite?!" because Kylie is so young (she's not even 21 years old) and cellulite tends to be something that we associate with getting older. But she often promotes products that supposedly tackle cellulite on her Instagram account.
Of course, like any celebrity, people have a lot to say about Kylie's body and make both positive and negative comments. After giving birth to her baby, Kylie posted a photo of her in lingerie, and it definitely got people talking. People wondered how she could possibly look that way after having a baby. Kylie keeps it real and often talks in interviews about her self-esteem. She said about her lip kits, “It came from an insecurity and I turned it into something. I was insecure about my lips, and lipstick is what helped me feel confident. It's the most authentic thing I've done in my career, and it really relates to me, and I feel like people can tell that I'm super passionate about it. I feel like people could see that it's authentic to me, and it was organic, and it just worked!”
3 November 25th, 2016: Flat Tummy Tea
In this Instagram post, Kylie Jenner is promoting Flat Tummy Tea, and she posted this on November 25th, 2016. As she says in her caption, this was around Thanksgiving. It's no secret that people talk a lot about "detoxing" or needing to "eat clean" around holidays, and Thanksgiving and Christmas time are big for that.
We often see celebrities promoting this type of product and wonder if it's something that actually works. That's why it's really helpful when non-celebrities try it out and write about.
In a Buzzfeed story, a writer talks about trying this product out, and he mentions the ingredients in this tea: " rooibos, green tea, ginger, oolong, pomegranate, stevia, guarana, citric acid, sea salt, lemon juice, honey, matcha green tea, and garcinia cambogia extract." His general feeling was, "Sure, I had gone to the bathroom more, and maybe my tummy felt a little less bloated than usual. Because of this, I felt a little skinnier - the type of skinny you feel after waking up in the morning when you haven't had anything to eat yet (and I didn't really have that much excess weight to lose to begin with). But I didn't really feel fitter OR like I was worthy of joining the Kardashian/Jenner family."
2 November 1st, 2016: HiSmile Teeth
Kylie was promoting HiSmile in her post from November 1st, 2016. These are kits that whiten teeth (and the website says it can happen in as little as ten minutes).
One thing that sticks out in this Instagram post, besides the fact that she's talking about a product, is that Kylie's rocking some really pretty blonde hair. We've seen Kylie with blonde hair a few times, and now people are wondering if the star has recently gone back to that shade. The Kardashian-Jenner clan are definitely ones to change up their look on a regular basis. We've seen Kim Kardashian with pink and blue hair recently, and she's also a star who goes back and forth between lighter and darker locks.
Kylie, in particular, is known for having different hair all the time. She was interviewed by Elle magazine and talked about changing up her hair for the Coachella music festival: "For me, I need to try and find a hair color that I haven't done before. There's not much left, but I'm committed to finding new options." Kendall was also interviewed and said, "We have the same hair length. Nobody knows, but our hair is basically twinning. I should take a pic one day of us with our same hair so we look like sisters again."
1 August 25th, 2016: Pink Live Lokai
This pink Live Lokai bracelet is really pretty and we can see that Kylie's got it on in this Instagram post. When the company sells a bracelet, they donate $1 to charity, and the cause is water. We have to commend Kylie for using her brand and her social media for not only useless products but for charities as well.
As the website copy states, "Our limited edition Lokais united many causes under one conviction: together, we can make a difference. Though our journeys diverge, we can impact global issues when we come together. This mission remains the same, so we're bringing back past Lokais to increase our impact." The company sells a lot of different types of jewelry.
Celebrities are often seen at fancy events where the proceeds of table sales or products go to charity, and other stars are big on promoting products that donate sales to charity. That's what Kylie Jenner was doing here with this Instagram post. This post from the summer of 2016 is just one example of many of her Instagram posts that are potentially worth $1 million. She definitely promotes a range of products, from jewelry that benefits a good cause to vitamins to fashion.
