Instagram is a foodie's playground when it comes to delicious food photos that jump out of your phone begging to be devoured. It is a one stop shop for some of the best recipe inspiration on the internet. The most talented chefs and at home cooks from around the globe share their creations on Instagram and many have a cult-like following. Today we are going to take a trip and get a taste of the best food shots Instagram has to offer.
So, what does it take to make a great food photo? Great lighting, beautiful styling and an eye for detail are just a few components that go into taking the perfect food shot. But most importantly, it is the ingredients that make the photo truly amazing. Drool worthy combinations that most of us would never think of in our own kitchen, but would love to get our hands on.

Of course this food photo love fest wouldn't be complete if I didn't share one of my own creations with you. Most of my recipes featured on Instagram are healthy and plant based. I try to make unhealthy recipes into something you can eat everyday. Continuing with the alcohol infused recipes, this citrus tequila chicken is a healthy recipe I created that will fool your guests with it's boozy title and marinade full of tequila and fresh lime juice. The photo is colorful and styled to look a little messy, like maybe the photo was taken after a few swigs of that tequila pictured (wink, wink).
